This is an independent website. It is not connected with the Government or any State body.

planningodds.com shows which building work in an Irish home and garden needs no planning permission since the new exemptions of 27 July 2026, and how often and how fast each council grants permission when work is over the limit. The size limits come from Statutory Instruments Nos. 338 to 344 of 2026 on the Irish Statute Book. The council figures come from the national register of planning applications published by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage under a CC BY 4.0 licence. The sources are listed at the bottom of each page, with the date we read them.

This website does not give personal advice. An exemption has conditions beyond size, so for your own project check the full text of the regulations or ask your council.
